COVID-19 update – How to order masks
31 January 2022
FOREWORD

Ata mārie,

Happy anniversary day to Nelson and Auckland (and those other areas covered by this anniversary). It’s my hope you are not reading this, but that if you are, you get a break.

As you’ll know, we are supplying masks to publicly funded schools for use by all staff working at the school. These are supplied at no cost to schools. Please find details on how to order masks below.

How to order masks

Instructions

  1. Enter your school number.
  2. Enter the quantity required and add to cart. Masks will be supplied in carton lots (2,000 masks per carton).
  3. Before you place your order, make an estimate of your usage; allow for four masks per day per staff member, for up to one week of use (that is, number of staff x 20). If your requirement is less than 2,000 masks, place an order for one carton.
  4. Proceed to checkout where you will be asked to enter contact and delivery address information. This will only be used for the purpose of delivering this order
  5. By placing this order, you acknowledge that you have authority to do so on behalf of your school.

Please note, we have secured a limited stock of masks from Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health for the schooling workforce.

As we work to secure ongoing supply, please only order sufficient quantity to cover one week at this stage. You can place another order if stocks run low. We ask that you do not stockpile masks so we can ensure there is enough supply for all schools.

Use and disposal of masks

Find guidance on how to put on a mask, what to do while wearing a mask and how to take it off and dispose of it safely on the Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health website.

How to use a face mask safely – Ministry of Health

To safely dispose of single-use face mask:

  • dispose in a closed, lidded bin or place into a bag and seal before putting into a rubbish bin or taking home
  • clean your hands after disposing of the face mask with soap and water or use hand sanitiser (containing at least 60% alcohol). Ensure your hands are dry.
