Early learning food programme to begin in 2025

Associate Minister of Education Hon David Seymour has announced Budget 2024 will provide $8 million of funding over two years for a new targeted programme to provide food to up to 10,000 two-to-five-year-olds who attend community-based early learning services in low socioeconomic communities. This initiative will begin in 2025. 

Planning is underway with the support of an expert advisory group. Keep an eye out for more information in a future bulletin.

Survey on guidance to support the updated Early Learning Curriculum Framework

In the 26 April He Pānui Kohungahunga | Early Learning Bulletin, we gave you information and resources about the full framework of Te Whāriki: He whāriki mātauranga mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa, which came into effect on 1 May.

Using the updated Early Learning Curriculum Framework – Bulletin 26 April

To support licensed services (centre-based, home-based, hospital-based) that are implementing Te Ara Whānui, we have updated guidance for the curriculum licensing criteria. We want to know if this guidance is clear and ask you to complete a survey, which will be open until 26 July.
